Evidence-based psychological care in Vietnam.
We support individuals, families, schools, and organizations through therapy, assessment, consultation, and organizational psychology services, integrating international best practices with culturally informed care.
Psychotherapy
Supporting Individuals, Couples, Families, and Groups
We provide evidence-based psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults navigating emotional, relational, and developmental challenges. Our work is grounded in clinical expertise, cultural understanding, and thoughtful collaboration.
Services include individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and structured group programs for concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
We approach each case with care and precision, integrating research-informed methods with a deep understanding of each client’s context. Our aim is not only symptom relief, but meaningful and lasting psychological growth.
Psychological Assessment
Understanding Strengths. Clarifying Challenges. Guiding Next Steps.
Psychological assessment provides clear, evidence-based answers when a child, adolescent, or adult is struggling academically, emotionally, socially, or behaviorally. Our evaluations are thorough, compassionate, and designed to inform practical action.
We assess for concerns such as attention difficulties, learning differences, autism spectrum conditions, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, and personality functioning. Each evaluation integrates standardized testing, clinical interviews, and contextual information from home and school.
Families receive a detailed written report and a feedback session focused on clarity, collaboration, and next steps.
School Partnerships: Supporting Students, Families, and Educators.
We partner with international and local schools to strengthen mental health systems, provide expert assessment and intervention, and support educators in promoting student well-being.
Our school services include:
Psychological assessment and diagnosis
Short-term student counseling
Teacher consultation and classroom support
Parent psychoeducation workshops
Professional development training
Crisis response and postvention consultation
We work collaboratively with school counselors, leadership teams, and families to ensure psychological services are integrated, ethical, and culturally informed.
Each partnership is tailored to the school’s needs.
Organizational Psychology
Employees, teams, and executives
We partner with organizations to strengthen psychological health, leadership capacity, and team functioning. Grounded in evidence-based practice, our services address both individual performance and the systems that shape workplace culture.
Our work includes leadership development, executive education, team consultation, stress and resilience programming, and communication and conflict interventions. We collaborate closely with organizational leaders to identify needs, design targeted solutions, and support sustainable change.

The founders’ journey
The Vietnam Institute of Psychology was founded by Dr. Nathan Gehlert and Lily Vo with a shared commitment to strengthening mental health care in Vietnam. United by their connection to Vietnam and their belief in the power of psychology to serve communities, they established VIP to expand access to high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based services.
Nathan, a licensed mental health counselor and academic leader with 18 years of clinical and teaching experience, brings expertise in psychotherapy, multicultural counseling, and professional training. Lily, with a background in business development and partnership building, leads strategy and growth, ensuring that psychological services are delivered with both integrity and sustainability.
Together, they combine clinical rigor and organizational leadership to build capacity in Vietnam’s mental health sector and to support individuals, families, schools, and workplaces through thoughtful, culturally informed care.
